Tuition Fee

The course in Film Editing is a 5-year-long Master's Degree course run in Polish (there is no separate BA programme).
Total course price is 42,500 Euro (4,250 Euro per semester)

Required documents

  1. Registration on-line in IRK system
  2. High school graduation diploma must be legalized by the Polish Consul in applicant’s country of residence, or if your country is on the Hague Convention list Apostille legalizing the diploma should be provided by a competent authority https://www.hcch.net/en/states/authorities/. In either case the diploma and its legalization/apostille should be translated into Polish by a sworn translator.
  3. NAWA recognition statement on eligibility of the holder for higher education. This can be obtained through KWALIFIKATOR system. The recognition may be automatic or - in case of certain countries - individual on request. The latter case requires at least two-month waiting.
  4. Documents providing information regarding the course of secondary education leading to high school graduation diploma such as list of subjects, number of tuition hours, grades obtained
  5. Polish language certificate at B2 level at least.
  6. Passport main page copy.
  7. CV
  8. Proof of payment for the entrance exam






To apply for the paid FILM EDITING studies (5-year-long Master’s Degree) the candidate must register in the IRK system and attach all the required documents. After positive verification of documents the candidate will get the link to OneDrive folder to upload the artistic portfolio and chosen documents.

Exam Fee

There is an exam fee of 150 PLN, which is supposed to be transferred to the school’s bank account in PeKaO SA bank in advance:

After the deadline for submitting the application the exam fee is non-refundable.

Exam

There are three stages of the entrance exam:
  1. Portfolio evaluation (without candidates' presence)
  2. The second stage of the examination includes: identifying and assessing the candidate’s professional and artistic aptitudes: aesthetic sensitivity, the ability to analyse a film work, the ability to make associations, imagination, erudition, clarity of expression, the ability to persuade others of one’s point of view, and knowledge of film art and contemporary cultural phenomena; evaluating the candidate’s ability to defend their own work.
  3. The second stage of the examination includes: narrative task (feature and documentary) and team work task.




Accommodation

For the duration of the entrance exam (only when it's held on the School premises) all the foreign students taking the exam get free accommodated at the student dormitory situated in 189/191, Piotrkowska St.

If you are interested in booking the accommodation at the dormitory, please inform about it the secretary at the film editing office in advance.

How to get to the dormitory?

From Łódź Kaliska train station get trams: 8, 10, 14 and get off at Piotrkowska stop.

From Łódź Widzew train station take 10 tram and get off at Piotrkowska stop.

From Łódź Lublinek airport take a taxi.
 
When you pass the entrance exam and become a student, you will shortly need to apply for the Polish residency permit.

Getting to school

Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre is situated at 61/63 Targowa Str.in Lodz. You can get there from:

Łódź Kaliska Railway Station
Tram 10 or 8 – get off at Piłsudskiego/Targowa stop.

Łódź Widzew Railway Station
Tram 10 - get off at Piłsudskiego/Targowa stop.

Łódź Fabryczna Railway Station
Tram 1 or 5 - get off at Piłsudskiego/Fabryczna stop.
Lodz Lublinek Airport
From  Łódź Lublinek airport it is possible to reach the school on 55 bus getting off in Tymienieckiego (corner with Kilinskiego St) or by taxi, which takes about 30 minutes and costs roughly 40 PLN.

Applying for student residency card

FOREIGN STUDENTS FROM NON-EUROPEAN UNION COUNTRIES

PLEASE REMEMBER TO START THE PROCESS OF ACQUIRING THE TEMPORARY RESIDENCY PERMIT WITHIN THE VALIDITY PERIOD OF YOUR VISA.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

1. 2 copies of the residency permit application (to be obtained from the Passport Office)
2. 4 passport photos (size: 4,5x3,5cm, colour, left profile and ear exposed)
3. Passport ( the original plus a copy of the page with the photo and a copy of the page with the visa)
4. Certificate of being a student at the Film School also confirming the tuition fee payment
5. Health Insurance Certificate (insurance to be purchased from NFZ (National Health Fund)
6. Bank account with sufficient funds for living expenses and the stay in Poland (635 PLN per month for a period of 15 months), plus funds for the return ticket to the home country: 200 PLN (any neighbouring country), 500 PLN (any European country), 2,500 PLN (all non- European countries)

Initially, a decision concerning the residency permit will be issued  (the decision charge – 340 PLN). Then, within a month, the residency card will be issued – charge 25 PLN
