We bring our best productions to the capital. And it’s already for the 14th time! "Łodzią po Wiśle".
The Festival audience at the Iluzjon Cinema in Warsaw was greeted by the director of the Polish National Film Archive Anna Sienkiewicz – Rogowska.
Then, Krzysztof Brzezowski, Lodz Film School Head of Promotion and the director of the Festival thanked all festival patrons and partners for their support, especially Polish Film Art Institute represented by its director Ms Magdalena Sroka. The Institute co-finaces our student films and the festival itself, which is a great help.
The Rector of the Lodz Film School Prof. Mariusz Grzegorzek who was present at the Festival opening said: The word "festival" may not be the most precise one, cause it implies competition. Possibly just “presentation”? Cause it’s not really about competing although the thrill of competing is very appealing to the young film-makers, and also the fact that there’s a jury which evaluates the productions, there are prizes, so in fact, it’s a competition! We come to Warsaw not to brag about the greatness of the Film School and that the Lodz Film School is number one in the world (although it goes without saying it’s the best). Our students’ films are sometimes better and sometimes worse. Like us as we are and if you don’t like what you see, maybe you should try and do it yourself? After the opening speeches the Festival program started.
This year the festival presenters were the direction students: Jędrzej Michalak and Nadim Suliman.
