So far, Tomasz Wasilewski has made three full-length fiction films: "W sypialni" , "Płynące wieżowce" and „Zjednoczone Stany Miłości”, the latter winning the Silver Bear Award for the Best Screenplay at this year Berlin Film Festival. His career path wasn’t easy though, he was not admitted to film direction or screenwriting and ended up studying film production management. – Looking back I know that my production studies were a valuable experience – I know how to produce a film – I was the producer of my debut film myself – says Tomek Wasilewski, who for a long time tried to get approval of the Polish film institutions. – Innitially, it was difficult to raise money for my projects, but when my films got noticed abroad and started winning prizes, it helped to open more doors in Poland. – he adds.
