This summer, we took some time to pause and reflect on our process as a collective, bringing in some intellectual allies to get a different perspective on the interests driving our activities.

"Bridging the Great Divide" introduces us to the work of the UK-based "Film Education Journal", exploring the frictions that fuel their editorial process and how they deal with them.

In "Theories on How We Teach", professor Fredrik Graver (The Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer) pays us a visit to discuss the vocabulary of film school pedagogy.

"The Workshop Script Interviews" traces the origins of our method of documentation – which we will be developing over the coming year.

Watch this space! We move into the new academic term with some exercises and ideas to get back to work.

"On Creative Writing" tackles the issue of writer’s block – and proposes some tools for getting the imagination to flow for when nothing new is coming through at all. Then we take a look at working with existing material.

"On the Archive" offers some bitesize thoughts on different approaches to the archive while "Exploring Voices as a Political and Material Force" reframes what we consider an archive, inviting us on a Digital Foraging expedition through YouTube.

"FILMED – Laboratory for film education from discourse to practice" is a program for film school lecturers. Its goal is to create better, inclusive, and innovative curricula and to educate competent, critically thinking, and responsible students who use audiovisual media in their work. The following schools are participating in the program: Lodz Film School, HDK-Valand (Sweden), and the Netherlands Film Academy (Netherlands).
