Transgrafia 3.5, an exhibition produced in cooperation with the Lodz Film School and the International Print Exhibition in Krakow, was presented at Cricoteka from July 10-19.
The exhibition was another unweiling of the project carried out since 2018 by the International Graphics Triennial Association in Krakow under the slogan Art is a Space of Freedom.
This time, the artists not only presented their works but also discussed their creative processes: from concept to realization. The narratives told by the artists provided the audience with an opportunity to delve into the very foundations of their creation: their way of thinking and interpreting reality. A key element of the project was the opportunity for visitors to meet the artists directly, who were present at the exhibition both at the opening reception and took turns on subsequent days of the exhibition.
The artists who participated in the exhibition were: Filip Bruchnalski, Natalia Ciak, duet Maja Dokudowicz i Ioannis Anastasiou, Marek Grzyb, Ewa Jaworska, Patrycja Pacha, Jakub Pierzchała, Rafał Pytel, Agnieszka Rożnowska, Paulina Silska.
The Transgrafia 3.5 project was created in collaboration with the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź. Bronka Nowicka, our lecturer at the Film Directing Dept., coordinated the workshops. Student films were created as part of the collaboration, featuring interviews with the artists. Video materials complement the message of the works.
Our students, Joanna Błęcka, Franek Chereziński, Franciszek Głuszek, Paulina Gotlib, Filip Krasnodębski, Weronika Krawczyk, Leszek Leszczyński, and Aleksandra Poskrop, spoke with the artists. Aleksandra Banaś and Jan Piszczatowski were in charge of camera work, and Barbara Fronc edited the shorts.
The exhibition provided accessibility for people with visual and hearing disabilities. All works presented in the exhibition were accompanied by audio descriptions developed by Magdalena Ciura (technical and material consultations were provided by Janusz Kur). The video materials included transcripts for the hearing impaired.
Katarzyna Wojtyga was the curator of the exhibition.
