Andrzej Grabowski met with acting students during Łukasz Maciejewski's class.
Meetings with renowned actors and casting directors, which take place during Łukasz Maciejewski's classes, are characterized by candid conversations between students and experienced representatives of the profession and the film industry. This was no exception, and lecturer Łukasz Maciejewski shared his reflections on the class:
"I don't call those meetings 'masterclasses' because the (real) masters don't want to act as 'masters' during those conversations with my students.
It's a conversation, often a confession, with younger, much younger colleagues in the same profession. It's a dialogue, because students ask questions, seek advice, and also confide in others. And that's what the class with Andrzej Grabowski was like. It was a wonderful two-hour chat. About his beginnings as an actor, his path to drama school (he was in the same year as Anna Dymna, Marzena Trybała, and Jerzy Stuhr), about the complicated relations in that period, his bold decision to move to the province (Tarnów) immediately after graduation and work intensively there for the first few years (Andrzej Grabowski believes it was the best decision possible). About the curse of popularity and recognition ("Kiepscy"), about not having an agent, about his acting career.
I looked at the rapt faces of my students. Their faces were delighted. And that was the greatest reward for us."
Thank you for visiting the School and meeting us!
