The crew of the film DANCING IN THE CORNER, led by director Jan Bujnowski, returns from the Cannes IFF with the Ceux du Rail Association Award for Best Short Film of Semaine de la Critique.

Ceux du Rail is an association of French railway workers who love films. Their main goal is to support extraordinary cinema; discovering artistic, previously unknown foreign films which they believe are not sufficiently distributed in commercial networks. The RAIL D'OR Award has been awarded since 1995 for Best Feature-length Film and Best Short Film in the Semaine de la Critique section. Past winners include: Alejandro Gonzales Inarritu, Julie Bertuccelli, and Jean-Pierre Améris. The 100-person jury decided to grant the award to DANCING IN THE CORNER. filmpolski.pl

Congratulations to Janek and all those involved in making of the film DANCING IN THE CORNER. What a score; well done!

The film DANCING IN THE CORNER was in the short film competition of the Semaine de la Critique, or Film Critics Week, which was created in 1962 by the French Union of Film Critics. This prestigious section of the Cannes Festival focuses on discovering young talented artists. Its programme invites the first and second films of young, promising filmmakers. Among the directors who have been noticed and appreciated as part of the Semaine de la Critique section are such outstanding and recognized directors as, among others, Alejandro González Iñarritu, Ken Loach, François Ozon and Wong Kar Wai.
