"Jaskółka" is “different from all other Polish films” – has written one of the critics. Bartosz Warwas’ diploma film is being watched by the jury of the 7th Off Camera Festival in Cracow.

"It feels as if a flood is coming. Not in a biblical sense, but equally serious. A tempest that will flood the gardens of the Polish cinema overseen with care for many years - says Łukasz Baduła. – especially those whose owners – the directors - were able to make a living by presenting asceticism of form and realistic perception of the world. These devoted gardeners should, despite their creative achievements, consider planting some new seedlings, because this is not the way to narrate in the Polish film anymore. Dark clouds are accumulating over the gardens of rustic realism and technical stopgaps. And amongst them there is an inconspicuous film "Jaskółka", tempest’s little sister. Although still restricted by limitations it is so different from everything the Polish viewer has been fed with. A few weeks ago, however, at the premiere of "Hard-core Disco", it may have seemed like little rain from a big cloud, and that even bold Krzysztof Skonieczny would just remain an exception that proves the rule. And then, all of a sudden, another film debut appears which not only has crossed the borders of the system, but also strikes lightning. The film made by equally determined and ambitious young director, Bartosz Warwas, a Lodz Film School graduate who achieved the impossible by turning his diploma film into a film officially distributed in cinemas.
