From 23 to 28, May, Mexico City will host the film review POLAND: CINEMA OF WOMEN (POLONIA: CINE DE MUJERES) as part of the second edition of the event called Polish Film Week in Mexico.

The organizers of the event are Ella Films and Cineteca Nacional de México (Mexican National Film Library), and the Polish partners are: the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Mexico and the Lodz Film School.
The guest of honour of the review is Milenia Fiedler, film editor and Rector of the Lodz Film School. Milenia Fiedler will hold industry meetings with Mexican schools and film institutions and will lead a MASTERCLASS preceded by a screening of a documentary entitled "Voice" (dir. Dominika Montean-Pańków, Poland, 2022), which will take place at the Cineteca Nacional on 24, May at 8:30 p.m. (Mexico City time); 25, May (Thursday) 4:30 a.m. (Polish time).

During the week-long review in Mexico, 33 feature, documentary and animated films directed by 30 women in the last decade (2011-2022) will be presented. The films are divided into three sections:
- WOMAN FEATURE (MUJER FICCIÓN),
- WOMAN DOCUMENTARY (MUJER DOCUMENTAL),
- WOMAN ANIMATION (MUJER ANIMACIÓN).
As part of the WOMAN FEATURE (MUJER FICCIÓN) section, 6 feature films will be presented, 3 of which have their Mexican premieres:

5. „Nothing is Lost” (2019, Poland, 71 min), dir. Kalina Alabrudzińska (MEXICAN PREMIERE)
6. „Woman on the Roof” (2022, Poland/France/ Sweden, 97 min), dir. Anna Jadowska (MEXICAN PREMIERE)
WOMAN DOCUMENTARY (MUJER DOCUMENTAL) is a section presenting 6 documentaries, 5 of which have their Mexican premieres:

WOMAN ANIMATION (MUJER ANIMACIÓN) is a programme of 21 animated films by students and graduates of the Leon Schiller National Higher School of Film, Television and Theatre in Łódź, made in 2012-2022. These films will be presented in two blocks during free screenings at the Cineteca Nacional in the OLED Room and in the outdoor cinema named after Gabriel Figueroa. The Lodz Film School is a Partner of the programme and its curator is Krzysztof Brzezowski, Head of the Promotion Office and School Spokesperson. The film "3 generations" by Paulina Ziółkowska was made available courtesy of the producer and distributor, Fumi Studio.

The programme of the POLAND: WOMEN'S CINEMA review was developped by the organizer of the 2nd Polish Film Week in Mexico, Ela Chrzanowska (Ella Films), in cooperation with the Leon Schiller National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Mexico.
The event in Mexico has been financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Mexico, with the support of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute as part of the "Polish Culture in the World" programme, as well as thanks to private individuals, patrons of Polish culture in Mexico. The review was also possible thanks to the distributors of the presented films, who made copies and rights available free of charge or at a significant discount: Blick Productions, Donten & Lacroix Films, Fumi Studio, Lava Films, LOCO FILMS, MEDIA MOVE, PWSFTviT, Studio Filmowe Kalejdoskop, TVP, WFDiF, Zygizaga Films.
The first edition of the Polish Film Week in Mexico was held in May 2022 under the name ANIMA POLONIA and was dedicated to animated and experimental films. The special guest was Prof. Piotr Dumała, film director and head of the Faculty of Animated Film and Special Effects at the Lodz Film School.
