Tadeusz Różewicz, a poet, playwright, and screenwriter, has died today (24 April) in Wroclaw at the age of 93. He was the Lodz Film School Doctor Honoris Causa.

Tadeusz Różewicz (born on 9 October, 1921 in Radomsko, died on 24 April, 2014, in Wrocław) was a poet, playwright, screenwriter, novelist and poetry translator, and one of the most versatile and prolific authors - representatives of Polish and international literary avant-garde.

He wrote screenplays for his brother Stanislaw’s films such films: "Trzy kobiety" (1956, screenplay written with Kornel Filipowicz), "Miejsca na ziemi" (1959, with Filipowicz), "Świadectwo urodzenia" (1961, screenplay written with brother Stanisław), "Głos z tamtego świata" (1962, with Kornel Filipowicz), "Echo" (1964, with Stanisław Różewicz), "Piekło i niebo" (1966, with Kornel Filipowicz), "Mąż pod łóżkiem" (1967, with Stanisław Różewicz), "Samotność we dwoje" (1968, with Stanisław Różewicz), "Drzwi w murze" (1973, with Stanisław Różewicz). In 2010 was a screenplay co-writer for an autobiographical film "Poeta Emeritus", directed by Andrzej Sapija.

On 4 October 2010 Tadeusz Różewicz received Lodz Film School Doctor Honoris Causa degree.
