We will miss very much our long conversations about film and exciting lectures about the history of cinema. Farewell Professor.
A great film buff, a great man, lecturer in film history at our School, long-time chairman of the Polish Federation of DKF (Discussion Film Clubs) in Poland.
Zygmunt Machwitz graduated from the Polish literature and film studies at Lodz University in 1961. At various times, he was a member of many social bodies, including the Program Council of the Film Industry, Film Industry Committee, Film Repertoire Council, National Film Archive Scientific and Program Council, Scientific Council of the Museum of Film, Editorial Board of "Film na Świecie". He is an award winner, among others, of the "Kino" Monthly Award and the Cinema Enthusiast Award - "Tęga Głowa".
Prof. Zygmunt Machwitz died on 9, April in Lodz.
