Haifa in September, Łódź in October. We will talk about Janusz Morgenstern at our School. And a special screening of his diploma film “Radishes” will follow.
On 18 October at 5 p.m. we invite you to the Film School to a screening of Janusz Moregnstern’s diploma film „Radishes” made in 1954 (film duration 17min). The venue: Film Club Cinema (first floor in the Rectorate building). The film will be followed by a screening of four short documentary films which inspired by the life and films of Janusz Morgenstern were made by the students of our school and the film schools from Israel: Tel Aviv University, Sapir College, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design:

The films are the outcome of the program "Inspired by Kuba. Following the vision of Janusz Morgenstern" inspired by the Israeli Docuvillage, which deals with production and promotion of documentary films in Israel. The short documentaries were already screened during the Haifa Film Festival last September, now the time has come to screen them at the Film School which Janusz Morgenstern graduated from.
Janusz "Kuba" Morgenstern was a director, screenwriter and film producer; Lodz Film School direction graduate. He worked with Andrzej Wajda on the films: "Kanał", "Lotna", "Popiół i diament"(Ashes and Diamonds). Morgenstern’s excellent debut film was "Do widzenia, do jutra..." from 1960. He directed contemporary psychological dramas, war films and also television series ("Polskie drogi", together with Andrzej Konic - "Stawka większa niż życie"). Morgenstern’s filmography comprises, among others, the films "Jowita" (1967), "Trzeba zabić tę miłość" (1972), "Mniejsze zło" (1980), "Żółty szalik" (2000).
