OSSA is an annual initiative of the National Association of Architecture Students. The Film School is its partner.

As an important event on the cultural map of Poland, it is one the most recognisable events for Architecture students and alumni as well as students of related disciplines. For over 20 years, OSSA has been exploring interdisciplinary approaches to design.

It will be the XXII edition of the OSSA workshop and the third, which will take place in a post-industrial city of Lodz, recently undergoing dynamic changes.

Leitmotif of XXII OSSA refers to Vision focusing on the broadly understood subjectivity of perception and the apperception of Architecture. This concept of a conscious life in an image of the world we create formulated in Theory of Vision by Wladyslaw Strzeminski, one of the most prominent polish avant-garde artists. Highlighting impact of cultural differences on our perception of reality, the Theory presents Vision as a primitive notion in terms of architecture, with countless ideas tied to it, such as concepts of mental and physical space or sillhouetes of great architects and theoreticians. This workshop is a priceless opportunity to indulge in search for what it means to see and to behold. In our interdisciplinary search for means of unleashing participants' creativity we will take a closer look at the rich tradition of the city's avant-garde, examining actions of such art-oriented collectives as the „a.r.“ as the „a.r.“ group, the Film Form Workshop or Łódź Kaliska.

In order to participate in the 22nd edition of OSSA you have to prepare a small preliminary work on this year's given topic - HIDDEN.

The deadline is 16th September at 00:00. 70 spots await for the best of the best!
