Jerzy Skolimowski during his visit at the Film School talked about making films as well as personal qualities such as confidence, which is worth faking if you lack it, humbleness and hunger for life.

- I hated lectures. I much preferred practical side of film-making. Whenever I had a moment I’d rather devote it to filming than attending lectures, admitted Jerzy Skolimowski at the beginning of the meeting at the Film School.

He continued talking about the school days when his student films were made: "Oko wykol", "Hamles" and "Erotyk" followed by a full-length film "Rysopis", and how he saved film-stock from the rations given to students for their films in order to make his first full-length film.

The film „Rysopis” was screened in New York at Lincoln Center to the audience of 2 thousand people. Later an American critic wrote that the film had not been properly edited. It happened that Godard was in the audience that day and sent Skolimowski a letter in which he said: Don’t pay any attention to those dumb American critics. You and I are the best film directors in the world. – recalled Jerzy Skolimowski in his conversation with Michał Chaciński.
