Sopot Film Festival: 3 student films from our school in the Competition and Mariusz Grzegorzek with his two films: "Conversation with the Cupboard Man" & "Singing Napkin" in the “3x2” presentation.

The 16th Sopot International Film Festival which opens on 9 July will screen the following student films from our school: Marta Magnuska’s animation "Ciało obce" made under the artistic supervision of Mariusz Wilczyński and Joanna Jasińska, Justyna Mytnik’s "Cokolwiek się zdarzy, kocham Cię" (artistic supervision: Sławomir Kryński, Wojciech Żogała) and "Adaptacja", a diploma film of Bartosz Kruhlik (made under artistic supervision of Filip Bajon and Jolanta Dylewska).

The festival audience will vote and choose the Best Animated Film and the Best Short Fiction Film. The Competition results will be announced during the prize giving ceremony in the gardens of the artistic cafe Young Byron on Thursday, 14 July.

One of the artists in the “3x2” presentation will be Mariusz Grzegorzek, a film and theatre director, the Rector of the Lodz Film School. Following the „3x2” presentation assumption the festival audience will see two of his films: "Conversation with the Cupboard Man" (1993) and "Singing Napkin" (2015), a full-length acting students’ diploma film produced by the Lodz Film School.
The screening of "Singing Napkin", which will take place at Multikino room 4 on 13 July at 5 p.m., will be followed by a meeting with the film’s director. (63, Bohaterow Monte Cassino Street).
The screening of the film "Conversation with the Cupboard Man" has been scheduled for 12 July at 7 p.m. at the National Art Gallery (Plac Zdrojowy 2).
The „3x2” presentation also comprises films of Anna and Wilhelm Sasnal and Marcin Wrona (in memoriam).

Apart from film screenings the Festival program comprises exhibitions, workshops, discussion panels, meetings with film-makers, silent films with live music and other film events around the city. Each year the festival shows the films screened and awarded at festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Rotterdam, San Sebastian, Sundance, Toronto and Gdynia. Sopot Film Festival is the only international festival in the north of Poland presenting authors’ cinema and the second most important film event in the region following Gdynia Film Festival as the first one.
 
The Festival takes place from 9 to17 July.
