City Coalition – Łódź visits Wrocław – with images and sounds. We’re also joining in. What kind of Łódź are we going to show?

A bad city? Is Łódź a tough city ? A different one? But in what way? Within the City Coalition project there will be organized Łódź self-presentation at Wroclaw City Brewery. For the period from 14 to 17 July the Brewery interiors will be transformed to accommodate Lodz galleries, theatres, courtyards and post industrial premises. Paweł Hajncel will give you a tour around them.

The Lodz Film School couldn’t possibly be missed out there. What will we show in Wroclaw? A photography exhibition of the school students and lecturers entitled „Łódź with a sea view”.

A few words about the exhibition:

"Łódź with a sea view" presents Łódź woven by a group of artists out of longing, joy, sentiment, rebel and acceptance.

 Real, although artificial.

Probable, because wishing is the most beautiful.

The exhibition comprises the work of: Paweł Augustyniak, Justyna Bugajczyk, Łukasz Cieślak, Dawid Furkot, Karolina Jabcoń, Weronika Jędrzejczak, Piotr Kotlicki, Monika Łuczak, Grzegorz Małecki, Robert Mainka, Aleksander Raczyński, Filip Szkopiński, and Zbigniew Wichłacz. The exhibition’s curator is Anna Kazimierczak. The exhibition opening has been scheduled for 14 July at 18.40 hrs.

But how could we possibly do without showing our student films? Obviously, there will be screenings of the films produced by the Lodz Film School after the year 2005. The screening of animated films, documentaries and fiction films will start at 1 p.m on 14 July. At 5 p.m. there will be a screening of a full-length acting students’ diploma film „Singing Napkin” directed by Mariusz Grzegorzek. The actors Mateusz Rzeźniczak and Karolina Krawczyńska will later talk about the making of the film.
