How to analyze and work on scripts? Lodz Film School and Prague FAMU invite to “Training the Trainers” workshop within the MIDPOINT program.
MIDPOINT is an international development program organized by the Czech Film School FAMU. It offers a series of film and television workshops aiming at creative cooperation between a screenwriter, a director and a producer. One of the workshops, Training the Trainers devoted to work with scripts, will be organized by the Lodz Film School in Lodz from 26 to 30 November, with support of the Polish Film Art Institute (PISF). The workshop will be run by two experienced script specialists and screenwriting teachers: Martin Daniel and Mary Kate O'Flanagan. Application deadline for workshop participants 15th October.
The program Training the Trainers will be a meeting platform for screenwriters and the so called “trainers”- the people who deal with film project development professionally. Over the period of five days 6 selected film projects will undergo an intensive development process run by the participants from the group of trainers. As a result some will be developing their projects while others will be learning how to do it. The whole process will be supervised by experienced teachers, script specialists and it will be accompanied by lectures, film analysis, and practical classes on character construction and scene writing.
A workshop sample including Training The Trainers program presentation and Pavel Jech’s master class “Ten Jokes That Will Teach You Everything You Need To Know About Screenwriting” will already be provided at the Film Festival in Gdynia this Wednesday 16 September. Pavel Jech is a screenwriter, screenwriting professor, Dean at FAMU and MIDPOINT director.
