On Thursady, 14 May, Wojciech Staroń, Lodz Film School cinematography graduate and DOP of the film „Pod ochroną” will meet the viewers after the film screening which starts at 7 p.m.
Diego Larman’s „Pod ochroną” to be screened in the film school cinema is a film from Wroclaw Nowe Horyzonty Festival program. Wojciech Staroń, who is a Lodz Film School cinematography graduate worked on the film as the director of photography. – In his professional career he has worked as a director of photography and cameraman on numerous fiction, documentary and television films such as: Krzysztof Krauze’s „Plac Zbawiciela”, „Papusza” (together with Krzysztof Ptak), Jacek Bławut „Jeszcze nie wieczór”, and Paula Markovitch’s „Nagrody”. His documentary debut was a film was Syberyjska lekcja (1998), which won prizes in Amsterdam (IDFA) and Krakow. In 2011 Staroń won Silver Bear for outstanding artistic achievements at the 61st International Film Festival in Berlin for cinematography in Paula Markovitch’s film „Nagroda”. The Polish producer of the film „Pod ochroną” is Małgorzata Staroń (Staron Film). The world premiere of the film took place at the 67th Cannes International Film Festival in Quinzaine des Réalisateurs section.
