The film "Intruz" directed by Magnus von Horn is the only Polish full-length film which has qualified for one of the most prestigious international festivals. The film was shot by the Lodz Film School cinematography graduate, Łukasz Żal, American Academy Awards nominee for the film “Ida” and two times Camerimage Golden Frog winner.

The Quinzaine des Réalisateurs section of the Cannes Film Festival has already screened the first films of such film-makers as Michael Haneke, Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee and Ken Loach. As far as Polish films screened in this section are concerned the list comprises the following titles  "Four Nights with Anna" by Jerzy Skolimowski, "Code Blue" by Urszula Antoniak, "Portret z pamięci" by Marcin Bortkiewicz and "Fragments" by Lodz Film School graduate, Agnieszka Woszczyńska.

“Intruz” is a story of a 17-year-old Swedish teenager who leaves a reformatory and is trying to start a new life. Some time before he had been sent to the reformatory because of aggression he could not control. Now he has to find inner strength which will let him confront the past.

Magnus von Horn was born in Göteborg, Sweden. He studied film direction at the Lodz Film School. His student documentary film "Radek" won Maciej Szumowski Prize at the Krakow Film Festival; a student film "Echo" won the following prizes.: Silver Lajkonik for the Best Short Fiction Film at the Krakow Film Festival and the Best Student Film at the International Film Schools’ Festival in Munich. The film was also screened at the Sundance Independent Film Festival in 2010. Magnus von Horn’s diploma film "Without Snow" had its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in 2011. The film won Silver Lajkonik Prize at the Krakow Film Festival and the Grand Prix in the Young Cinema Competition of the Gdynia Film Festival.
