"Łodzią po Wiśle" is a film competition devoted to student films made by the students of the Lodz Film School who present to a vast audience their last academic year’s films.

Each year the films are evaluated by a professional jury awarding the Grand Prix and other prizes for the best films in the four film categories: fiction, documentary, animation and cinematography. The films are watched by film lovers, film professionals and producers, and journalists. „Łodzią po Wiśle” is the beginning of film festival lives and an opportunity for their authors to win the first prizes.

The Competition has been organized in Warsaw since 2003. Since its beginning the main aim of the Festival "Łodzią po Wiśle" has been the promotion of Lodz Film School students, confrontation of their work with a wide audience and film circles through creating a forum for discussion about the future of the Polish cinema. The number of viewers has been increasing with each festival edition and the discussions following the screenings are very inspiring. The films screened during "Łodzią po Wiśle" get noticed and later win awards at Polish and international festivals. A list of the competing films will be published soon.
