"For psychological truth”. "For an attempt to confront people and the world". For the film "Body/Ciało". The Silver Bear for Best Direction goes to a Lodz Film School graduate at the Berlinale.

The Golden Bear of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival went to Jafar Panahi, the Iranian director of the film "Taxi" and the Silver Bear to Pablo Larrain for "The Club". Both Małgorzata Szumowska, for the film “Body”, and Romanian director, Radu Jude, for the film "Aferim”, got the Silver Bear for Best Direction. The Festival President was Darren Aronofsky.

Małgorzata Szumowska’s film competed in the Berlinale Festival Main Competition with eighteen other films., amongst them, "Knight of Cups" by Terence Malick, "Queen of the Desert" by Werner Herzog, "Nobody Wants the Night" by Isabel Coixet and "Eisenstein in Guanajuato" by Peter Greenaway.

The film "Body/Ciało", starring Janusz Gajos and Maja Ostaszewska, is based on an original screenplay by Małgorzata Szumowska and Michał Englert. Last year, at the Berlinale Festival, Szumowska’s film "W imię..." received Teddy Award for the best gay film of the festival.

At the 65th Berlinale the following prizes were awarded:
Golden Bear: "Taxi" by Jafar Panahi
Jury Grand Prix (Silver Bear): "The Club" by Pablo Larrain
Alfred Bauer Prize (Silver Bear): "Ixcanul Volcano" by Jayro Bustamante
Silver Bear for Best Director: Radu Jude ("Aferim") and Małgorzata Szumowska ("Body/Ciało")
Silver Bear for Best Actress: Charlotte Rampling ("45 Years")
Silver Bear for Best Actor: Tom Courtenay ("45 Years")
Silver Bear for Best Script: Patricio Guzman ("The Pearl Button")
Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to Cinematography: Sturla Brandth Groevlen ("Victoria"), and Evgeniy Privin and Sergey Mikhalchuk ("Under Electric Clouds")
