Filip Bajon, a film director, the Dean of the Lodz Film School Direction Department, has been chosen the director of the "Kadr" Film Studio.

"Kadr", the oldest feature film production centre, was founded in 1955. Many prominent Polish films were made there, amongst them the films by Jerzy Kawalerowicz, Andrzej Wajda, Janusz Morgenstern and Tadeusz Konwicki. The films produced by "Kadr" were awarded many prizes at the International Film Festivals (Andrzej Wajda’s "Kanał" at the Cannes IFF, Tadeusz Konwicki’s “Ostatni dzień lata" at the Venice IFF, and two films "Faraon" by Jerzy Kawalerowicz and "Noce i dnie" by Jerzy Antczak were American Academy Film Awards nominees). Jerzy Kawalerowicz was the founder and director of the "Kadr" Film Studio until 2007, the year of his death. His successors were Jerzy Kapuściński (the producer of Jan Komasa’s "Sala samobójców" and Leszek Dawid’s "Jesteś bogiem") and then Łukasz Barczyk, Lodz Film School Direction Department lecturer.

Since 2011 the "Kadr" Film Studio has been supervised by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
