„Bright as Sunshine…” is the title of a first year acting students’ play. The group of actors, who called themselves „Teatrino”, performed for little patients of the Lodz Medical University Hospital.
- Each encounter with sick children evokes empathy and cools off any possible narcissistic tendencies. For the students of acting it is an important lesson, a lesson in humility – says prof. Jadwiga Sobczak, who founded the group „Teatrino” in 2003. So far the acting students together with the Foundation „Art Cures” have prepared a dozen plays (e.g. „Świat bajek”, „Bajkolandia”, „Na gałęzi”) addressed to sick children in hospitals or children living in small places away from culture centres. The latest play prepared by Teatrino and called „Bright as Sunshine…” is based on poems by Jan Brzechwa. Script & direction: Małgorzata Flegel, Acting Department lecturer. Costumes: Katarzyna Mazurkiewicz, Lodz Fine Arts Academy student. Actors in the play: Anna Bieżyńska, Anna Biernacik, Sara Jakobson, San Raubo and Mateusz Więcławek.
