The Accolade Global Film Competition jury team awards the "Humanitarian Award" to a direction student, Sandeep Rampal Balhara, for his film "Cotton Dreams".

The Global Film Awards is a family of three unique film award competitions (Best Shorts Competition, IndieFEST Film Awards and Accolade Global Film Competition) honoring outstanding achievements in film, television, video and new media for over 10 years.

The Global Film Awards is highly committed to promoting films which have an impact on transforming our world. Each of the three film competitions bestows an annual Humanitarian Award to a talented filmmaker for an outstanding project that address issues of Social Justice, Animal Welfare, Political, Environmental, Wellness, or Conscious Awareness.

The Accolade Competition was named as one of the Top 25 Film Festivals by MovieMaker Magazine.

The side effects of a growing economy and extensive use of biotechnology pushed Indian farmer into the world’s greatest agrarian crisis. „Cotton Dreams” delves into life of one such family and brings out a tragic tale of love, life and sacrifice under extreme living conditions in rural India.

The film has also won other prizes, namely, the "Sofie" Prize at the International Short Film Festival in South Orange, New Jersey, USA, and a prize at the Poznan "Off Cinema" International Film Festival for: "a moving picture of abandonment and helplessness in a ruthless world of the global economy".

"Cotton Dreams" Thanegaon village in Maharashtra Province in India. The film is a full of empathy story about a poor widow whose husband committed suicide after harvest failure.
