On 24 December, 2014, died Krzysztof Krauze, one of the most prominent Polish film-makers and a Lodz Film School graduate. His films will be screened at the school cinema.

7 January (Wednesday) - "DŁUG" (1999)
8 January (Thursday) - "MÓJ NIKIFOR" (2004)
9 January (Friday) - "PLAC ZBAWICIELA" (2006)
13 January (Tuesday) - "PAPUSZA" (2013)

All screenings start at 7 p.m. in the Rectorat Building (A) where the school cinema is located on the first floor. All screenings are free.

Krzysztof Krauze graduated from the Lodz Film School Cinematography Department. However, in his professional life he chose the career of a film director. He started as an animator and documentary film-maker in the Lodz Se-Ma-For Studio. In 1984 he made a documentary "Jest". His fiction debut was the film "Nowy Jork - czwarta rano" (1988). The year 1999 witnessed the premiere of his famous film "Dług" recognized as one of the most important films of the contemporary Polish cinema. The rest of his films which followed are widely considered to be outstanding films.

Krzysztof Krauze won many Polish and international festival prizes: double winner of the "Golden Lion" Prize at the Gdynia Film Festival for the films "Dług" and "Plac Zbawiciela", four-time winner of the Polish Film Academy "Eagle" Prize for the same films. For his last film, "Papusza" he received a distinction at the Karovy Vary International Film Festival, a prize at the International Film Festival in Uruguay, Special Prize at the Istanbul Film Festival and the Audience Prize at the Polish Film Festival in New York. Krzysztof Krauze’s films will be screened at the Lodz Film School cinema as a tribute to this great director.
