This autumn, international workshops were held, led by Magnus von Horn. Participants had the opportunity to develop their feature film projects under the watchful eye of our instructor.
The workshops took place as part of the Lodz Film School Intensive Workshops, during which three participants consulted on their feature film projects with director Magnus von Horn who decided to work with Michael Matias (Portugal), Ori Wolf (Israel) and Piotr Pluta (Poland).
- "I engage with participants who are open—willing to rediscover their stories or call them into question. This creates a fantastic space for us to experiment, free from the constraints of a pre-existing screenplay. In fact, I believe the strength of these workshops lies in the fact that the less we know about the projects—both as facilitators and as participants—the better. We aim to tap into a kind of 'collective intuition' regarding these stories: where they are heading, what potential lies within them, and how we might uncover it. The workshops operate on this premise: you arrive with a story and share it with others who have no prior knowledge of it, yet they can sense its potential and the direction it might take—and I think that is incredibly valuable for filmmakers," explained Magnus von Horn regarding the workshops.
Over the course of several days, the filmmakers discussed the concept for the film, shot a teaser of a selected scene, and edited it. They were assisted in their work by a team of students and staff from the Lodz Film School.
