The Film School has granted its honorary patronage to the "Man in Danger" Media Festival. The competition lineup will feature documentaries by our students, and films involving our alumni and faculty.

This year’s program features a total of 70 films and reportages, as well as 30 meetings with the filmmakers. We have a strong presence this year!

In the Student Documentary Film Competition, we will see films produced by the school:

MIX dir. Klaudia Szott
THE UNKNOWN LIFE OF FLOWERS dir. Jakub Wenda
AS LONG AS THEY DON’T FIND US dir. Maja Górczak
and
LET’S LEAVE IT UNTITLED dir. Mieszko Chomka (directing student; prod. Wajda School)

In the Reportage Competition, we recommend:
STUDENT DORMITORY dir. Filip Gierlach (Film Art. Organization Dept.)
KILL A MOCKINGBIRD dir. Katarzyna Szczerba (lecturer and Head of the Sound Directing Department)

Maciej Drygas, a lecturer in our Film and Television Directing Department, will receive the Krzysztof Talczewski Special Award. To mark the occasion, we invite you to a screening of TRAINS (October 18 at 12:15 p.m.) and a masterclass with Rafał Listopad (October 16 at 2 p.m., Kinematograf Cinema)—the film’s editor and a lecturer at our school.

We also recommend the retrospective of Maria Zmarz-Koczanowicz, our directing lecturer. As part of the showcase, the organizers will present selected films by the documentarian.

The second retrospective will be dedicated to Edward Etler, a graduate of the Cinematography Department.

Films by our lecturers and alumni have been selected for the Documentary Film Competition.

The 36th "Man in Danger" Media Festival runs in Łódź from 14 to 18, October, 2026.

Screenings are held at the National Centre for Film Culture and the Kinematograf Cinema.
