Łukasz Maciejewski received the award on Saturday, September 19, during the "A Meeting Full of Stories" ceremony, organized as part of the 6th edition of the "Tarnowianie" Festival. The event was part of an evening of reminiscence that also featured the launch of the book „Zwierz bardzo żarłoczny” ("A Very Voracious Beast"), published by the Lodz Film School Publishing House.

The laudatory address reads: "The Minister of Culture and National Heritage has awarded the 'Gloria Artis' Medal for Merit to Culture to Łukasz Maciejewski—a film and theatre critic, commentator, lecturer, and promoter of culture. This award recognizes his extensive body of creative and artistic work, as well as his efforts to promote and disseminate Polish film, theatre, and culture."

On behalf of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the decoration was presented by Dominika Babicz, Head of the Tarnów Branch of the Małopolska Voivodeship Office, assisted by Anna Chmura, Director of the Mościce Art Centre.

"I am one of the lucky few whose passion has become their job—a passion that is recognized and rewarded. I have been fortunate with the people I’ve met and the challenges I’ve faced; I have been lucky in life. In a sense, this distinction crowns my efforts to date. It serves as a summary, but also as an impetus for future endeavors and new ideas—of which I certainly won't run short," said Łukasz Maciejewski.
