The Viborg Animation Festival, organized since 2012 by, among others, the city of Viborg – a UNESCO Creative Cities member – is the largest animated film festival in the Nordic countries. The films shown at the festival are eligible for the BAFTA Awards. The festival runs from September 7th to 13th.

The animated film ARE YOU ASLEEP? directed by Olha Cherpak, will compete for the award in the graduation film category.

The film premiered at the Anibar International Festival in Kosovo and will also be presented at the Ottawa International Animation Festival in Canada in September.

Now we're keeping our fingers crossed for the competition in Denmark!

ARE YOU ASLEEP?

Film synopsis: Night. The sounds of sirens. Insomnia. The girl returns to her city she barely recognizes and is faced with the changes that have taken place within it and its inhabitants.
