The renowned cinematographer, a graduate of the Faculty of Cinematography and Television Production, died on 29, August at the age of 56.
It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Witold Płóciennik on August 29th. He graduated in cinematography from the Lodz Film School and was an outstanding cinematographer.
He was the cinematographer for the films ICARUS: THE LEGEND OF MIETEK KOSZ, directed by Maciej Pieprzyca; ŚWIĘTO OGNIA, directed by Kinga Dębska; as well as the series KLANGOR; GO AHEAD, BROTHER; LEAD CHILDREN; KRUK, and television dramas.
A long-time member of the Polish Society of Cinematographers, he won awards at the Camerimage Film Festival in Toruń and the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia, and was nominated for the Eagle Awards and the Polish Society of Cinematographers (PSC) Awards.
His passing is a tremendous loss to Polish cinema.
