Klaudia Fortuniak's film DREAM UP THE TITLE wins 2nd Prize in the International Short Film Competition at the 20th Dwa Brzegi Festival. Our graduates also made it to the podium!

The 20th edition of the Festival concluded on August 9th, and the winners were announced during the Closing Gala. We wrote about the selection of our student films for the festival here. (filmschool.lodz.pl/news/3879,dwa-brzegi-nasza-silna-reprezentacja-na-20-edycji.)

In the International Short Film Competition, second place (prize of PLN 6,000) was taken by Klaudia Fortuniak with her fiction film DREAM UP THE TITLE.

Jury statement: for creating a dreamlike, unreal world which is simultaneously coherent, poignant, and above all, absurdly funny. For a story about an intriguing female protagonist who makes you want to drop everything and embark on a journey following the rivers of Łódź.

Film synopsis: The parched city of Łódź is left without rivers, and Małgorzata embarks on a journey to find them. She’s late for the journey, misreading the time in her sleep. She finds the rivers, but not the dream.

The Third Prize of PLN 4,000 was received by Patrycja Polkowska (graduate of directing) for the film CASE NO. (PROD. Munk Studio, Lumisenta Film Foundation).

Jury statement: for a suggestive and extremely current portrait of a man entangled in the mechanisms of the system and the power of emotional impact that leaves the viewer with questions long after the screening.
