"Video art is one of the most dynamic and versatile forms of contemporary artistic expression, combining image, sound, time, and narrative to create immersive experiences. It offers artists the freedom to explore ideas, emotions, and perspectives beyond the boundaries of cinema, performance, installation, and traditional visual arts," write the exhibition organizers.

Thirteen films have been selected for the international exhibition, including video art by Professor Izabela Łapińska and Dr. Artur Frątczak. The screening will take place on July 25 at the Con/Temporary Spaces Gallery. The exhibition runs until July 31.

"STREAM BREAK" is part of the exhibition AMERICAN BEAUTY, currently on view at the Re:Medium Gallery in Łódź (until August 30).

Izabela Łapińska's photographs were used to create the film "STREAM BREAK". The film was created from shots processed by AI. This short film addresses the issue of "animating" photographs with artificial intelligence models, an increasingly common phenomenon in contemporary imagery, and the shift in perception of the subject of the image, which transforms it from a static figure into a moving one. Although the generated figure aspires to the real world, it has nothing in common with the authenticity of experiences with which we are familiar. It is merely a simulation created with the help of AI, whose effects can be modulated. The moving figures in the photographs are images of real people, but what they do is beyond their awareness, a product of an algorithm. The multiplication of figures alludes to the process of perceptual familiarization of the viewer, in which phenomena initially perceived as alien or difficult to accept become "normal," which is most easily achieved through visual appeal.
