The school has signed an agreement with the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship to co-finance the project "Creation of ecological, educational and thematic gardens on the campus of the Lodz Film School".

We are turning our campus into a green nature conservation centre.

In June 2026, the Lodz Film School signed an agreement with the Marshal of the Lodz Voivodeship to co-finance the project "Creation of ecological, educational and thematic gardens on the campus of the Lodz Film School" no. FELD.02.17-IZ.00-001/25, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the regional programme European Funds for Lodz 2021-2027.

The project will create an Educational Biodiversity Park, including unique thematic gardens:

• Polish Climbing Plant Garden – green facades with rare and native plant species
• "Wild Kitchen" Garden – a space with native edible plants
• Pollinator Meadow – a traditional flower meadow supporting bees, among other things
• Vertical Rain Gardens – modern green walls utilizing advanced plant technologies
• Vertical Garden in Building Z.

What exactly will change on campus?

The project will transform our campus into an ecologically developed space. Plans also include:

• Construction and furnishing of educational gazebos – a glass one serving as an conservatory and a wooden one
• Construction of four bicycle shelters
• Installation of 35 insect houses
• Construction and installation of educational boards
• Research and maintenance of natural monuments.

Our campus will also host environmental education workshops for pre-schoolers, primary and high school students.

A Space Accessible to Everyone

Importantly, our campus will be open to everyone. The project will serve students, doctoral students, lecturers, staff, researchers, and the local, national, and international communities. The project will be fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities (motor, visual, and hearing). Some of the gardens will be sensory (aroma gardens), and information boards will be equipped with Braille descriptions.

Caring for a Green Łódź Voivodeship

The project is aligned with the main objectives of the FELD.02 priority, "European Funds for a Green Łódź Voivodeship." It focuses on nature conservation in the Łódź region and improving biodiversity through the creation of thematic gardens with an environmental education function. The project's main goal is to increase biodiversity and green infrastructure on the school grounds.
