The LodzArte Foundation is a unique community of Łódź entrepreneurs who support culture and its creators. Among the talents in which the Foundation invests is Klaudia Fortuniak, our directing student.
This year, the LodzArte Foundation and the Lodz Film School signed an agreement under which the foundation will support the production of our students' graduation fiction films. The first recipient of this recognition is Klaudia Fortuniak, a directing student.
LodzArte and Klaudia Fortuniak's paths first crossed during the production of "Dream up the Title" Klaudia's film premiered at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and is currently on its festival tour.
- We got to know each other and Klaudia's film then, and we knew where we wanted to invest our funds whenever another opportunity like this arose - recalls Michał Haze, President of the LodzArte Foundation.
Klaudia Fortuniak received PLN 5,000 in financial support for her graduation film. Filming, under the supervision of Grzegorz Jaroszuk, will begin in September.
"It will be a film about growing up," Klaudia tells us. Thanks to the Foundation's support, our dream of shooting it on film will come true. We want to extract the truth from the characters – teenagers. Film allows us to do this, highlighting the details and portraying them beautifully. I greatly appreciate the Foundation's support. Every such support means one less compromise on the set." The film's budget will be supported by funds donated to the Foundation by approximately twenty companies in Łódź.
"In the long term, we hope to attract more conscious donors who will support culture with us out of conviction. In return, we offer our patrons cultural experiences that are generally difficult to access. For now, we're keeping our fingers crossed, rooting for Klaudia, and waiting for the film," says Michał Haze.
The cooperation agreement between the LodzArte Foundation and the Lodz Film School has been signed for an indefinite period. Each year, the Foundation will provide funds to support the completion of a selected student's diploma film.
We thank the Foundation for its support, trust, and faith in our students!
