Ec1 Łódź - City of Culture invites you for walks as part of the Łódź UNESCO City of Film trail.

"This year, there will be three film trips, each focused on a different theme. We will kick off the summer season with walking in the footsteps of the cult and eminently Łódź-themed series „Far feom the Road”. We will also walk in the footsteps of popular actresses and actors known from the silver screen. In this special year dedicated to Andrzej Wajda, we will also tell the story of his work through the locations where he shot his films," says Paulina Szewczyk, coordinator of the walks and trips at the Łódź Film Commission.

Here are the topics and dates of the walks:

* „Daleko od szosy” (Far from the Road) – 50 years later. Meeting with Sławomira Łozińska and Lechosław Uciński.

2026 marks the 50th anniversary of the premiere of the first episode of the series "Far from the Road," directed by Zbigniew Chmielewski. It's one of those productions that has become etched in viewers' memories. The story of Leszek, Bronka, and Anna captivated audiences back in 1976, and today it continues to resonate as a tale of ambition, love, maturing, and the path to a better life. The series, among other Polish productions, is one of the highlights of the Łódź UNESCO City of Film Trail. To celebrate the anniversary, on 21st, June at 4 p.m., the Odeon Cinema of the National Centre for Film Culture will host a screening of an episode of "Far from the Road," along with a Q&A with guests Sławomira Łozińska, who played Bronka, and Lechosław Uciński, the model for the series' character, Leszek. The meeting will be hosted by renowned Łódź guide Justyna Tomaszewska.

* On the red bus "Far from the Road"

A Tour in a historic red "cucumber" bus through the filming locations of the series. After the anniversary meeting, we invite you to a trip on a historic Jelcz 272 MEX bus, the iconic "cucumber." This unique tour follows the scenes of Zbigniew Chmielewski's series. We'll depart from EC1 to visit the Łódź locations that shaped the on-screen world of Leszek and Anna. The choice of vehicle is no accident. Leszek, the series' protagonist, drove just such a bus while working as a driver for the Łódź public transport company. During the tour, participants will visit locations associated with the series and learn the stories of the people and places which influenced its production.

The tours will take place on July 5 and August 9. Departures at a.m. from EC1, near the Andrzej Wajda Passage. The tour will last approximately 3 hours.

A walk in the footsteps of famous actresses and actors who created legendary film roles in Łódź.

Three routes, including the inaugural walk, will lead participants in the footsteps of famous figures of Polish cinema who created legendary film roles in Łódź. Among the characters featured in the stories will be Katarzyna Figura, Agata Kulesza, Beata Tyszkiewicz, Jan Machulski, Bogusław Linda, and Cezary Pazura.

* „Łódź. Direction: Andrzej Wajda”

To celebrate the Year of Andrzej Wajda, two walks will be held under the theme "Łódź. Direction: Andrzej Wajda" and will be dedicated to the filmmaking presence of one of Poland's most important directors in Łódź. This is an invitation to walk through Łódź, through his films, characters, and stories, which have become a permanent part of the history of Polish cinema.
