Jakub Piątek, lecturer in directing, received the Golden Hobby-Horse for his film BACEWICZ x BOMSORI. Meet all our winners from the 66th Krakow Film Festival.

The Golden Hobby-Horse for the director of the best short documentary film was awarded to Jakub Piątek, lecturer at the Department of Film and Television Directing, for BACEWICZ x BOMSORI, produced by Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne.

The Polish Short Film Competition Jury, composed of Olga Bobrowska, Łukasz M. Maciejewski, and Maria Zbąska, stated:
When we fall in love with a protagonist, all theoretical justifications become meaningless. For a simple and beautiful portrait, in which one artist reflects in another beyond space and time.

The award for best cinematography, under the patronage of the Polish Society of Cinematographers and funded by InfoCenter, the creator of the mPupil.pl application, went to Mateusz Czuchnowski, our cinematography graduate, for the film STEPS IN SILENCE, directed by Fariz Ahmadov.

The Polish Competition jury evaluating full-length documentary films, composed of Katarzyna Boniecka, Natalia Koniarz, and Wojciech Staroń, stated: The jury appreciates not only courage and discipline, but above all, sensitivity. The cinematography doesn't shout or dominate, but carefully follows the protagonists. They transport us into a world where the landscape of a minefield becomes a metaphor for life.
