The Lodz Film School Publishing House invites you to stand no. 23H at the International Book Fair in Warsaw, which takes place from 28 to 31, May, at the PGE National Stadium.
On Saturday, May 29th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., our distinguished lecturer in the Department of Animated Film and Special Effects, Piotr Dumała – a Polish director, screenwriter, illustrator, graphic designer, prose writer and poet, will be signing his book – a lengthy interview – "Piotr Dumała in Conversation with Dorota Tadzik" at the school's publishing house's stand.
We will also be presenting our new releases from 2026 at the Warsaw Fair:
* "Has' People," edited by Katarzyna Mąka-Malatyńska The aim of this volume is to place Has's collaborators at the centre, familiarizing the reader with the relationship between them and the director, and highlighting their artistic contributions. This book features, among others, actors, screenwriters, cinematographers, and producers who co-created the famous director's films.
* "Piotr Dumała in Conversation with Dorota Tadzik" A publication about the artistic path and search for inspiration of the creator of award-winning animated and feature films. It is a conversation about the importance of life's fascinations and experiences, about "extracting the essence" of content and form in every artistic challenge – not only in films themselves, but also in sculpture, painting, comics, first sketches, and storyboards.
* Anna Zagrodzka-Leśniewska, Monika Talarczyk, "Stanisław Wohl. Navigator of Film" Volume IV of the "Masters of Cinematography" series A biography and film studies analysis of the artistic achievements of Professor S. Wohl – cinematographer, director, head of the "Syrena" Film Unit, and one of the lecturers behind the establishment and development of the Lodz Film School in the late 1940s.
* Ola Jankowska, "Where is Blue? Notes for Working on Less Conventional Film Projects" "Where is Blue?" is an iconoclastic book. Analyzing the classic "film recipe," the author reveals how our thinking about filmmaking has been shaped, while also pointing to the wealth of possibilities which lie beyond this framework.
All publications mentioned above were co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
