On Friday, 22 May at 11 AM, as part of the 44th Drama Schools Festival, there will be a lecture by Prof. K. Kornacki and a discussion with guests: K. Janda, J. Radziwiłowicz, P. Edelman & M. Fiedler.

Professor Krzysztof Kornacki's (University of Gdańsk) lecture, "You Don't Make Films for Yourself – The Artistic Approach of Andrzej Wajda," and a panel discussion featuring Krystyna Janda, Jerzy Radziwiłowicz, Paweł Edelman, and Milenia Fiedler, provides an opportunity for audiences to learn about the director of "Ashes and Diamonds" as a socially and politically engaged filmmaker. His stance was evident in many of his public statements, but above all, in his artistic decisions.

The academic presentation and panel discussion will address the social responsibility of art – the themes and aesthetics chosen, as well as the historical and political polemics in which Andrzej Wajda participated through his films. The director's distinct, often controversial voice is a crucial guide for contemporary audiences, immersed in media noise and ethical ambiguities. It is also an excellent starting point for a critical perspective on the past and present.
