Last Sunday, May 17th, the Film School Cinema hosted a meeting with Dan Laustsen, one of the most outstanding contemporary cinematographers!
Dan Laustsen is currently in Łódź filming Chad Stahelski's latest film, HIGHLANDER. The Danish cinematographer came to the Lodz Film School thanks to the initiative of our cinematography student Merlijn Willemsen, who led the meeting.
Dan had the opportunity to visit the Lodz Film School main building - seat of the school authorities and meet with the academic community.
Danish-born cinematographer Dan Laustsen is an artist known to both arthouse film buffs and audiences of today's biggest films. He is the cinematographer of Guillermo del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN, for which he received an Oscar and BAFTA nomination for cinematography, as well as THE SHAPE OF WATER (dir. Guillermo del Toro; Oscar nomination), NIGHTMARE ALLEY (dir. Guillermo del Toro; Oscar nomination), CRIMSON PEAK (dir. Guillermo del Toro), THE COLOR PURPLE (dir. Blitz Bazawule), and the JOHN WICK films.
Multiple nominee for other prestigious film awards: BAFTA, Critics' Choice Awards, American Society of Cinematographers, etc.
Thank you for the visit!
