From May 4-9, we invite you to the 15th Equality Marathon, an event organized in solidarity with LGBTQ+ people. The Lodz Film School is a Supporting Partner.
The event is organised by the Equality Factory.
"This year's Equality March is an invitation to every person – regardless of orientation, identity, views, or experiences. We are not just talking about the rights of LGBT+ people. We are talking about the right to live without fear, to respect, to honest information, and to equal treatment. These are issues that affect workers, families, young people, and seniors. Human rights are not a privilege or an ideology – they are the common foundation on which democracy rests.
Time for community. Time for courage. Time for equality," invite the March organizers.
As a sign of solidarity with LGBTQ+ people who also make up the Lodz Film School community, the LGBTQ+ flag will fly over our campus from May 4th to 9th.
We especially recommend events such as:
* screening of the film BAD POLES (prod. Munk Studio, 2024), directed by Kamila Ćwiklińska, our film and television production graduate. The screening will take place on May 8th (Friday) at 6:30 p.m. at the Charlie Cinema. After the screening, there will be a meeting with the director and one of the protagonists – Frank Broda.
* screening of the film "Woman with..." (2023) by Małgorzata Szumowska, a graduate of film and television directing, and Michał Englert, a graduate of cinematography – May 4 (Monday) at 6:30 p.m., also at the Charlie Cinema.
The final event will be the Equality March in Łódź, which will take place on May 9 (Saturday) at 1 p.m.
"(…) We walk the streets of Łódź because we believe that a society based on solidarity is stronger than one based on division. We walk to invite, not exclude. To illuminate, not obscure. To remind everyone that each and every one of us has the right to live in truth and without fear," the organizers announce.
