This year's Cannes Film Festival will feature films with cinematography by our graduates: FATHERLAND, dir. P. Pawlikowski, DOP - Ł. Żal, and ULYA, dir. V. Kairiss, DOP - W. Staroń.

This year, films competing at the Cannes International Film Festival include those shot by our graduates, one of whom is also a lecturer at our school.

Both films are co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.

* MAIN COMPETITION
Paweł Pawlikowski's film FATHERLAND is up for the Palme d'Or! The film was shot by Łukasz Żal, a cinematography graduate. The editor of the film is Piotr Wójcik, a graduate of editing, and Ewa Puszczyńska, a recipient of an honorary doctorate from our School, is the film’s co-producer.

* UN CERTAIN REGARD
The competition includes the Latvian-Estonian-Polish-Lithuanian co-production ULYA (UĻA ) directed by Viesturs Kairiss with cinematography by Wojciech Staroń, our graduate and lecturer at the Faculty of Cinematography and Television Production.

Our students and graduates, Kamila Serwicka, Tomasz Pawlik, Hanna Tarasiewicz and Jan Staroń, worked on the film as assistants to the cinematographer.

Congratulations and we keep our fingers crossed for the Polish films at the Cannes International Film Festival!
