During the industry forum, Cannes Short Film Corner, our students Klaudia Szott and Angelika Cygal, as well as graduate Izabela Plucińska, will present their latest films.
Short Film Corner is an industry forum for professional short filmmakers. During the four-day event, filmmakers have the opportunity to participate in valuable workshops, panel discussions, and meetings with experienced (co-)producers, distributors, and sales agents, enabling them to build contacts within the film industry.
This year, the Cannes Film Festival runs from 12 to 23, May.
Our directing students will participate in the Short Film Corner and present their short films:
* Klaudia Szott with her film MIX (documentary)
Film synopsis: During the Cold War, students from the Global South came to Poland to study at the Lodz Film School. Years later, Sylwia, the daughter of a Polish mother and a Nigerian father, finds traces of her own history in the films made at the time. Her personal voice intertwines with archival images, creating a poetic narrative about memory, identity, and the person suspended between two worlds.
