Our students' films will be screened at the festival, under the patronage of Jańcio Wodnik. We recommend seeing the films which will be screened at the Cultural Centre in Września.
PROWINCJONALIA is a competition for the best Polish feature films, television films, and documentaries about rural and small-town life, as well as original and artistic cinema, dominated by a world of simple, universal values, subtlety, and narrative aesthetics. It is also often called a festival of peripheral and outsider cinema.
The Festival's goal is to popularize Polish filmmaking and emphasize the role of film in social life. We are particularly committed to recognizing films of high artistic and humanistic value. We also want the Festival to inspire new, interesting achievements and create an atmosphere of openness and trust between people, free from prejudice, stereotypes, and xenophobia.
The programme of the 31st edition of the festival, which will begin on April 15, includes films by our students:
Fiction films
HOUDINI, dir. Mariusz Rusiński
„Transl. It’s ok to be quiet”, dir. Filip Jakubowski
DRAUGHTS, dir. Katarzyna Kosajda
HOW TO FALL OUT OF LOVE, dir Varvara Zarytska
Documentary films
LET’S LEAVE IT UNTITLED, dir. Mieszko Chomka, prod. Wajda School AS LONG AS THEY DON’T FIND US, dir. Maja Górczak
THE UNKNOWN LIFE OF FLOWERS, dir. Jakub Wenda
The winner of the Honorary Award of the 31st edition of PROWINCJONALIA will be our outstanding graduate – Krzysztof Zanussi.
The festival's opening film (April 15, 2 p.m.) will be NO GHOSTS ON GOOD STREET by our directing graduate – Emi Buchwald.
