Our lecturer, Grzegorz Małecki, invites you to a screening and meeting with the artists.

Anna and Wilhelm Sasnal create visionary and experimental cinema, disrupting conventions and challenging boundaries, juggling words and sublime imagery.

Their film THE ASSISTANT is based on Robert Walser's 1908 novel. The film's protagonist is Joseph Marti (played by Piotr Trojan, our acting graduate). Humiliated by his foreman, he quits his job at a bookbinding shop. The hiring manager offers him a position at the villa of engineer Karl Tobler (played by Andrzej Konopka), an inventor who believes his patents will be a huge financial success. Marti becomes his live-in assistant. Gradually, he learns about the closed and toxic world of Tobler's villa and the problems of his lonely and unhappy wife (played by Agnieszka Żulewska, our acting graduate).

The film has been screened at MOMA in New York, the Rotterdam International Film Festival, and the New Horizons International Film Festival in Wrocław, among others. Now it is time for the Lodz Film School!
