Awards were presented to the Best Polish Cinematographers. Among the winners were our cinematography graduates: Michał Dymek, Bartłomiej Kaczmarek, and Grzegorz Kędzierski. Congratulations!
On Saturday, March 28, the winners of the Polish Society of Cinematographers Awards were announced.
In his opening speech, Piotr Śliskowski, president of PSC and lecturer at the Cinematography Department of the Lodz Film School, said:
"Today we are rewarding filmmakers – those who shape the visual language of cinema with their sensitivity and talent. What makes these awards unique is the fact that they are decided by PSC members. This is a recognition from those who best understand the art of film image."
Meet the winners, our cinematography graduates from the Lodz Film School:
* MICHAŁ DYMEK
Award for Best Cinematography for the feature-length film "The Girl with the Needle," directed by Magnus von Horn. This is the first PSC Award for this cinematographer.
* BARTŁOMIEJ KACZMAREK
Award for Best Cinematography for the third episode of the series "Hevelius," directed by Jan Holoubek. This is the fourth PSC Award for this cinematographer.
* GRZEGORZ KĘDZIERSKI
PSC Lifetime Achievement Award
Statement: "For the masterful creation of the film image, encompassing half a century of outstanding achievements and contribution to the development and protection of cinema heritage, with particular emphasis on the art of cinematography.
Grzegorz Kędzierski joined the prestigious group of winners of this award, which includes such virtuosos of cinematography as: Jerzy Wójcik, Witold Sobociński, Wiesław Zdort, Bogdan Dziworski, Krzysztof Ptak, Sławomir Idziak, Andrzej J. Jaroszewicz, Ryszard Lenczewski, Jacek Petrycki, Andrzej Ramlau, Jerzy Zieliński, Tomasz Tarasin and Arkadiusz Tomiak.
