Best wishes to all the women who make up our School – students, lecturers, and employees.
We wish you:
Space and time for yourselves.
Peace of mind and a sense of security.
Big dreams and the courage to fulfill them.
Carefree joy and opportunities for delight.
Good people around you.
Thank you for your sensitivity and your strength.
Each of you is important, each of you irreplaceable.
Remember about it!
P.S. Here's a still from the film PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN by Natalia Durszewicz, a graduate of our School.
The film is an animated interpretation of Wisława Szymborska's poem, which we've included below:
PORTRAIT OF A WOMAN
She must have a choice,
To change so that nothing changes.
It's easy, impossible, difficult, worth the effort.
Her eyes, if necessary, are sometimes blue, sometimes gray,
dark, playful, full of tears for no reason.
She sleeps with him like a one-night stand, the only one in the world. She will bear him four children, no children, one.
Naive, but she gives the best advice.
Weak, but she will bear it.
She has no head on her shoulders, but she will.
She reads Jaspers and women's magazines.
She doesn't know what this screw is for and she will build a bridge. Young, young as always, still young.
She holds in her hands a sparrow with a broken wing,
her own money for a long and distant journey,
a meat cleaver, a poultice, and a shot of vodka.
Where is she running, isn’t she tired?
Oh no, just a little, a lot, it doesn't matter.
Either she loves him or she's determined.
For better, for worse, and for God's sake.
