The documentary CLOSURE by Michał Marczak, with sound by Katarzyna Szczerba, our PhD student & Head of the Sound Engineering, is at the Sundance FF. But this is not the only highlight from the school.

The 2026 Sundance Film Festival will run from 22, January to 1, February. This year's edition received over 16,000 submissions.

Among a total of 10 titles qualified for the International Documentary Film Competition, Michał's film is the only one from Poland. The film's sound director and co-producer is Katarzyna Szczerba, a doctoral student and Head of the Sound Engineering Dept. at our school, which was established this academic year.

The film serves as her doctoral work.

The film was edited by Anna Garncarczyk, our editing gradaute.
