On 22, Nov., we invite you to the third meeting of The Senses. The Open Workshop for Socially Good Culture which will focus on an audio library of everyday life and a seminar on simple language.
What was the creative process like, based on touching, listening, smelling, and then translating these experiences into text? During the workshop "Creative Vibration: Expressive Writing and the Audio Description of Everyday Life," Anna Ciarkowska drew participants' attention to the body, which records reality through the senses. What narrative descriptions emerged during these meetings? You can discover them by visiting the Audioteka at the Łaźnia Academic Design Centre.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., we invite you to listen to audio descriptions of everyday objects. Authors: Joanna, Magdalena Pawlak, Paulina Romanowska, Katarzyna Skręt, Roksana Ślusarczyk, Sylwia Wiśniewska, Michał Wyrwa.
From 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., you can attend a seminar during which Milena Rosiak will discuss the concept and principles of simple language. The meeting will take place in the workshop room located on the ground floor of the ADC.
Have you ever wondered what linguistic accessibility is? While much has been said in public spaces about architectural and digital accessibility, we're increasingly realizing that language can be excluding and can act as a barrier. Words, phrases, and cultural texts then become like high stairs or bridges, metaphorical spaces with limited access. During the seminar "Texts Beyond the Fog: Simple Language in Creative Contexts," we'll examine the narratives used to tell and promote contemporary culture.
Participation in the events is open and free.
See you there!
The Senses: Socially Good Culture Workshop project is being implemented thanks to funding from the City of Łódź budget. The project's initiators and executives are Anna Ciarkowska, Bronka Nowicka, and Milena Rosiak.
