The Polish-English publication MISTRZOWSKIE ZOOMOWANIE / MASTER’S ZOOMING, edited by Katarzyna Taras, Paweł Edelman and Piotr Kukla, is a record of three workshops with excellent cinematographers. The book was published by the Lodz Film School Publishing House and its protagonists are Hoyte van Hoytema, Lawrence Sher and Mátyás Erdély.

The interview with Hoyte van Hoytema, about the professional career of this now outstanding cinematographer, who years ago used to be a student of the Lodz Film School, was conducted by Franciszek Przybylski, then a third-year student of the Cinematography and Television Production Department.

The workshop with Lawrence Sher was a detailed analysis of the film JOKER hosted by Katarzyna Taras.

In turn, our cinematography student, Vincent Prochoroff, was our guide to Mátyás Erdély’s world.

The accounts of these three meetings form the content of the publication which was co-financed by the Polish Film Institute and the Lodz Film School Development Foundation.
