NOTHING ABOUT YOU SCARES ME, directed by Justyna Nowak, is in competition at the prestigious The Lee Strasberg Film Festival, organized by the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
 
                		The festival is primarily dedicated to the art of acting and draws on Lee Strasberg's long-standing, signature method. Among the alumni who trained with him or studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute are: Laura Dern, Alec Baldwin, Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, Marilyn Monroe, Matt Dillon, Harvey Keitel, Uma Thurman.
The festival runs on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, from 7 to 9, November.
Selected films will receive an invitation to the Institute's next industry event, Producer's Night Los Angeles. They will compete for acting trophies and the Tarkovski Grant.
NOTHING ABOUT YOU SCARES ME was produced as part of the Munk Studio’s “Thirty Minutes” programme, and the filmmakers who made it include graduates of the Lodz Film School: the film was directed by Justyna Nowak, our directing graduate; the DOP was Szymon Kluz, a cinematography graduate and our PhD student; our cinematography graduates, Mateusz Czuchnowski and Andrzej Woźniakiewicz were the camera operators; the film was edited by Tomasz Ciesielski, an editing graduate who was also the film’s executive producer; Jędrzej Wielecki, an acting graduate worked as the assistant director; the cast includes our graduate and lecturer, Agnieszka Skrzypczak; Barbara Bladowska, a production graduate, worked as the second director; in the production team there were our production graduates: Klaudia Preyss, Kasia Stasiełuk, Anna Balkiewicz, Magda Rzońca.
The main roles were played by: Eryk Kulm, Monika Roszko, Mariusz Bonaszewski, Piotr Siwek.
The film is an attempt to tackle the genre of melodrama, which the author has dubbed "post-hipster melodrama." It draws on the work of Wojciech Jerzy Has, particularly the film "How to Be Loved." The story follows the romantic adventures of three friends during the production of a theatrical play entitled "The Birds," based on Aristophanes' work.

NOTHING ABOUT YOU SCARES ME had its international premiere during the European Film Market at the 74th Berlinale IFF 2024.
To date, the film has received the following awards: Cinematic Achievement Award at the 18th Thessaloniki International Short FF in Greece, Grand Prix Eutopia Arthouse FF in Northern Ireland, Award for Best Screenplay at the Inventa Un Film IFF in Italy, Award for Best Short Film Directing at the Lulea IFF in Sweden.
